Dcn. Edward Garza, LMFT
Pastoral Counselor
Deacon Edward Garza holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Drake University, and received his four years of diaconal formation through the Diocese of Des Moines. Deacon Ed is also specialized in deliverance ministry, completing his training through Mundelein Seminary in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Deacon Ed shares his call story: “I allowed it to happen, so I could have you.” Words spoken to me by the Lord years ago that brought me inner healing to a past that involved dealing with father and mother wounds. The Lord’s words told me that He did not cause my wounds but that He allowed it to happen. Even more importantly He said He wanted me, so I was worthy of love which my emotional wounds had denied me. My healing brought out mystical gifts of empathy, wisdom, inner knowledge, and compassion for others who have experienced emotional wounds. These gifts combined with a master's degree in counseling and being an ordained deacon has led me to a ministry of healing. I genuinely believe that the Lord has brought me to this ministry to help heal His people, so they too can believe that He loves them as He loves me.
